POSITION SUMMARY:
The Electrician is primarily responsible to service, maintain and test production equipment. This position will support production by trouble shooting problems, making repairs and system improvements (optimization).
JOB-SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assembles and installs new equipment and machines and is able to make modifications to existing equipment as requested.
- Maintain safety standards of equipment and work area, and safely perform all duties in accordance with the safety policies of Karmax.
- Carries out preventative maintenance procedures on electrical equipment as laid out by the manufacturer’s specifications.
- Coordinate activities of co-op students, apprentices, helpers and assigned contractors.
- Assist in determining and setting up spare part requirements.
- Perform all duties in an environmentally responsible manner in accordance with the Karmax Environmental Policy Statement-3 P’s. Prevent Pollution, Preserve Natural Resources & Protect our Environment
- Follow Magna’s Code of Conduct and Ethics and related compliance policies.
- Perform other duties as required.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Grade 12 Education or GED
- Certificate of Qualification Industrial Electrician 442 or Electrician 309
- Must be able to support a three shift rotation, that rotates every two weeks MM-AA-DD
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent mathematical, analytical and organizational skills
- Able to perform various computer functions (Microsoft Office, Karmax Software)
- Able to safely operate all Material Handling Equipment (Forklift, crane, buggy) in assigned area of responsibility.
- Internal licenses provided upon hiring
COMPENSATION PACKAGE AND PERQUISITES:
- Hourly wage of $46.61/hr
- Afternoon Shift Premium additional $1.00/hr
- Night Shift Premium additional $1.25/hr
- 2 weeks' of Vacation after 6 months of employment, 4 Personal Paid Holidays and 2 Floater Days
- Ability to lieu 40 hours each year of overtime for an additional week of paid time off
