Global Communications consists of three specialism-based teams: Strategic Communications (which is comprised of three pillars: the Global Reputation Campaigns and Programs team, the Media Relations & Issues Management team and the Social Media team), Internal Communications, and Leadership Communications.
What you will do
- The role leads global media relations activity, setting and delivering proactive and reactive media strategies that protect and enhance the firm’s reputation across priority markets and issues
- It serves as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, shaping messages, preparing spokespeople, and supporting high‑stakes media engagement, interviews, and thought leadership
- The role plays a key role in issues and crisis management, coordinating rapid, accurate responses, developing media statements, and advising leaders under pressure
- It builds and manages strong relationships with influential global journalists and outlets, identifying opportunities to get ahead of emerging issues and secure high‑impact coverage
- The role develops high‑quality media content across formats, using AI tools to improve speed, insight, and consistency while applying strong editorial judgment and professional standards
- It evaluates media performance and campaign impact, using data and AI‑enabled measurement tools to demonstrate value, inform decisions, and continuously improve media effectiveness
What you bring to the role
- A communications professional with at least seven years of experience (minimum of three years at a management level)
- Diploma or undergraduate degree preferably in a communications related qualification
- Ability to work hand-in-hand with other parts of the KPMG business to deliver campaigns, including marketing, public affairs, digital, strategic and internal communications
- Extensive experience of working with senior leaders in large, complex organizations
- Evidence of an ability to spot issues-led media opportunities ahead of time and ability to produce rapid reaction statements in response to media enquiries
- Strong influencing and communication skills to act professionally, calmly, and persuasively when dealing with key internal stakeholders

KPMG Ontario Region Pay Range Information
The expected base salary range for this position is $110,000 to $150,000 and may be eligible for bonus awards. The determination of an applicant’s base salary within this range is based on the individual’s location, skills & competencies, and unique qualifications. In addition, KPMG offers a comprehensive and competitive Total Rewards program.
