Our client, a manufacturing company based in Drummondville, is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join its team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities of the organization, providing both strategic and operational expertise to support the company’s growth and profitability.

Responsibilities
  • Establish management procedures and performance indicators to ensure effective and optimized financial management.
  • Maintain regular communication with senior management by providing detailed analyses of the company’s financial position.
  • Ensure strict compliance with established procedures and financial schedules, identifying and correcting any variances as needed.
  • Oversee the company’s financial flows and manage cash flow to ensure financial stability.
  • Analyze the company’s financial performance (balance sheet, financial analyses, dashboards, and operational indicators) and provide insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Lead negotiations with external financial partners, including banks and government authorities, to optimize the company’s financial arrangements.
  • Monitor international financial, tax, and legal regulations and ensure their proper implementation within the organization.
  • Organize and coordinate the activities of the administrative and finance department, ensuring efficient and transparent management.
  • Record daily accounting transactions and oversee the year-end closing process while ensuring compliance with deadlines.
  • Manage payroll, tax and statutory filings, as well as accounts receivable and accounts payable processing.
  • Update accounting data processing system configurations and stay informed about tax, labor, and legal developments to ensure organizational compliance.
  • Oversee industrial cost accounting by calculating product costs and managing general administrative activities such as insurance and legal matters.

Requested skills

Desired Profile
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in financial roles, preferably including experience within a CPA firm or public accounting environment.
  • CA designation (or equivalent CPA designation).
  • Broad experience within a medium-sized business, encompassing a variety of administrative responsibilities beyond accounting and finance alone.
  • Entrepreneurial and proactive mindset, with the ability to take initiative and work independently to contribute to the company’s growth.
