Position Summary
Lead end-to-end multi-site plant operations to deliver outstanding Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) results. This role owns the daily performance and the long-term transformation of manufacturing across operations for the desired plant(s). You will build high-performing teams, simplify processes, and partner cross-functionally to meet commitments, accelerate growth, and elevate the customer experience.
Key Outcomes (first 12 months)
Safety: TRIR/recordable incidents reduced; 100% compliance with OHS/OSHA and company safety standards.
Quality: First-pass yield 98% and EPPM reduction of 50% year-over-year.
Delivery: 95% on-time delivery and schedule adherence across all programs.
Cost/Productivity: Labor efficiency and throughput improved via Lean/5S; departmental budget delivered to plan.
People & Culture: Build a capable leadership bench; increase engagement measured by Your Voice results and voluntary turnover with targeted action plans.
Responsibilities
Own daily, weekly, and monthly production performance (SQDC) with visible tiered reporting and problem-solving.
Plan and execute production schedules; optimize shift configurations, labor allocation, and capacity to meet demand.
Ensure robust materials flow in partnership with Procurement, Inventory, and Logistics to prevent shortages and delays.
Maintain plant facilities readiness (security, access control, fire prevention/protection, preventive maintenance, housekeeping).
Promote and enforce a culture of safety and well-being; lead by example.
Responsible for appropriate staff levels to meet requirements of the department
Ensure compliance with Johnson Controls/Silent-Aire safety programs and OHS/OSHA, Regulations, and Code.
Drive 5S and visual management standards across all departments.
Build and develop a high-performing operations leadership team.
Partner with HR on workforce planning, recruitment, performance management, coaching, and retention.
Foster an inclusive, collaborative culture grounded in accountability and continuous improvement.
Identify and execute cost, productivity, and quality improvements; standardize best practices.
Resolve escalated customer issues quickly; drive root-cause elimination and transparent communication.
Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain to align on forecast, design-for-manufacture, and launch readiness.
Champion our business system for operations utilizing daily management and problem-solving to remove waste and simplify workflows.
Establish and maintain standard work, tiered daily management, and visual performance boards.
Implement corporate policies and operational structure; ensure regulatory and ethical compliance.
Qualifications
Required
10+ years of progressively responsible experience in manufacturing/operations; 5+ years leading multi-department plant teams.
Technical, engineering, or business degree (or equivalent experience); advanced degree preferred.
Proven track record delivering SQDC results, budget, and on-time delivery.
Knowledge of OHS/OSHA and Employment Standards; strong safety mindset.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint; ability to interpret financial statements and KPIs.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills; strong customer orientation.
Preferred
Lean/Kaizen/Six Sigma training; experience leading Lean.
Experience with manufacturing engineering collaboration and ERP/MRP environments.
