Mining Parts Business Manager

The Opportunity

As the Mining Parts Business Manager, you will oversee the commercial performance of the mining parts business, including sales, profitability, forecasting, and budgeting, while managing nationwide inventory to ensure optimal stock levels and support growth.

The Role

  • Manage and analyze parts sales performance, margins, and market share; prepare regular reports and insights to support pricing, positioning, and actions that ensure ongoing market competitiveness and profitability.
  • Provide technical and commercial support on mining parts to mining branches, mining category staff, and end users.
  • Support outside sales team (equipment sales and MSRs) and mining branches with prospecting activities including market overviews, field population tracking, training, and quotation support.
  • Directly oversee the mining part obsolescence (OBS) prevention program and work with branch and supply chain personnel to minimize OBS provisions through remarketing, special programs, and general focus on ensuring we have the right stock on hand.
  • Work hand in hand with the Mining Components Program Manager to set inventory levels, make decisions on parts to add/remove from the program, and manage core assets for major components.
  • Manage the contract parts price process to ensure timely and accurate submission of contract parts price files and gain alignment on increases (whether negotiated or as per contract price adjustment mechanisms).
  • Maintain database on mining undercarriage, buckets, and GET installations and hours to support forecasting, lost sales follow up and special program design.
  • Liaise with Supply Chain and mining branch parts leaders to ensure proper stock levels of consumables for assigned product lines.
  • Liaise with key mining vendors (Hitachi, Bradken, Jaws, etc.) to communicate challenges, opportunities, and build programming to support mining parts sales growth.
  • Liaise with key mining vendors (Hitachi, Bradken, Jaws, etc.) to ensure parts pricing is competitive and proper support is provided for large/key accounts.
  • Deliver/facilitate product training to mining category colleagues and end users for assigned product lines.
  • Support mining sales teams on new equipment/project RFPs as required.

The Candidate

  • Education: College diploma / Post secondary Education preferred
  • Work Experience: Previous Business Analytics experience (5-10 years)
  • Knowledge: Parts operations, mining equipment, maintenance planning, etc.
  • Proficiency: Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
