Inventory Clerk

We are currently looking for a Receiving Inventory Clerk.

The clerk is responsible for managing inbound shipments and ensuring that all items are properly received, inspected, and recorded in the inventory system. They coordinate with the warehouse team and other departments to ensure the smooth flow of materials and merchandise.

Responsibilities

• Receive shipments by unloading and unpacking incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders and packing slips.
• Inspect and check merchandise for damage or discrepancies and report problems to the vendor or supervisor.
• Accurately document and record all items received in the inventory system, ensuring records are up to date.
• Manage inventory and contribute to the organization and maintenance of the warehouse, ensuring that all items are correctly stored and identified.
• Manage the return of defective items, coordinating with suppliers for replacements or credits.
• Collaborate with other departments to resolve any issues related to shipping or orders.
• Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the reception area, respecting safety standards and regulations.
• Communicate with vendors and suppliers to report any discrepancies, damages, or delays in shipments.
• Perform quality checks on incoming goods to ensure they meet company standards.
• Follow all safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.

Profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; certification in logistics or supply chain is an asset.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in a receiving, warehousing or inventory management position in a manufacturing environment.
• Understanding of receiving processes, inventory control and supply chain principles.
• Proficiency in computer software, integrated management software packages and inventory software.
• Organizational skills and ability to work independently or in a team.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal in English and French.
• Attention to detail and accuracy of data in the receiving process.
• Ability to work in a constantly changing environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects, if necessary.
• Holding a forklift driver's card is an asset.
