Compensation
- Competitive salary in the range of $115,000 to $135,000, commensurate with experience. This role offers a stable base salary plus comprehensive benefits and potential for career growth.

Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of commercial underwriters to ensure high performance, accuracy, and consistency
- Oversee underwriting decision-making for complex and niche risks
- Cultivate and maintain strong broker relationships, supporting new business development and renewal strategies
- Manage day-to-day operations, workflow, and service standards, implementing process improvements for efficiency
- Support strategic planning by collaborating with Claims, Actuarial, and Finance teams
- Conduct client visits, represent the underwriting team in cross-functional initiatives, and review escalated or complex submissions
Qualifications
- Minimum of 7 years of Commercial Underwriting experience
- At least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership capacity
- Strong knowledge of Commercial Property and Casualty lines as well as specialty lines such as E&O and D&O
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage conflicts, and make sound underwriting decisions under pressure
- Excellent relationship-building, negotiation, and communication skills
- Outgoing, proactive, and driven to grow new business
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or related field, or equivalent industry experience
