Commercial Risk Placement Manager

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary liaison between service team and Account Executives, addressing and resolving operational or client-related issues
• Supervise, mentor, and motivate staff through performance reviews, training, and regular team meetings to ensure alignment with company values and objectives
• Manage and approve staff expenses, attendance, and remote work schedules, providing regular reports and updates to the Director of Risk Placement
• Collaborate with leadership to develop and improve workflows, processes, and systems that enhance efficiency and service delivery
• Oversee account renewals, audits, and quality checks to ensure compliance with procedures and high service standards
• Conduct needs assessments across departments, implementing initiatives for continuous improvement and operational excellence
• Provide technical and marketing support to Account Executives, including reviewing policies, negotiating terms with insurers, and preparing client proposals
• Attend client meetings and act as a subject-matter expert on policy coverage, underwriting requirements, and contract or lease agreement reviews

Qualifications

• At least 7 years’ experience in a commercial risk placement/broking role
• Minimum 1 to 3 years’ experience in management
• RIBO license required with other industry designations (CIP, CAIB, CRM) being assets
• Experience with Epic system is an asset
• Complex problem solving skills in a technical and personnel capacity
• Adaptability to a constantly changing commercial insurance landscape
• Strong attention to details
