Position Overview
They are seeking a Junior Project Coordinator / Estimator to support both the estimating and project delivery teams. This role is ideal for an early-career construction professional with 1-3 years of experience who is looking to gain exposure across the full commercial construction lifecycle from pre-construction through close-out.
Key Responsibilities
Estimating
- Assist with quantity take-offs, pricing, and preparation of cost estimates
- Review drawings, specifications, and tender documentation
- Solicit, review, and analyze subcontractor and supplier pricing
- Support the preparation of bid submissions and proposals
- Maintain organized estimating files and cost data
- Support Project Managers with day-to-day project coordination activities
- Assist with scheduling, document control, and project reporting
- Prepare and track RFIs, submittals, change orders, and purchase orders
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and internal teams
- Track project costs and assist with budget monitoring
- Maintain meeting minutes, construction logs, and project documentation
- Assist with site coordination as required
- Support project close-out documentation and deficiency tracking
- Ensure compliance with company policies and site safety requirements
- 1-3 years of experience in commercial construction in a Project Coordinator, Junior Estimator, or similar role
- Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related discipline (preferred)
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Experience with estimating or project management software is an asset
- Strong communication skills and a proactive, team-oriented attitude
