The Charge Biomedical Technologist performs standard biomedical technologist duties such as inspection, repair, calibration, maintenance, and installation of patient-related devices and systems; performs clinical site investigation and troubleshooting; and other duties as assigned by the manager. The Charge Biomedical Technologist performs user training and assistance when required and may take part in design, modification, construction, and evaluation of various devices. As Charge Biomedical Technologist, the position requires triage decision-making, problem-solving, time and labour entry, and assistance to other technologists when required. The Charge Biomedical Technologist participates in capital equipment selection processes, interviews for positions, and other department leadership activities as assigned. Conducts weekly meetings with staff to determine and prioritize current activities.


Qualifications

1. Graduate of an accredited college program in Electronics and/or Biomedical technology
2. Minimum 5 years experience in the field of Biomedical Technology, preferably in a leadership capacity
3. Strong knowledge of electronics, medical devices/systems, anatomy and physiology
4. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of neonatal and obstetrics technologies
5. Demonstrated knowledge of computers, networks, communications, and software/operating systems
6. Demonstrated effective communication, organization and interpersonal skills
7. Demonstrated leadership skills and experience
8. Demonstrated ability to work responsibly in a team environment
