Purpose of the Position
Reporting to the Human Resources Supervisor, the Human Resources Business Partner acts as a strategic partner to managers and teams across the organization.
The incumbent supports managers in achieving business objectives by providing both strategic and operational human resources guidance. The HRBP acts as a coach and advisor in areas such as team management, employee relations, performance management, organizational change, and occupational health and safety matters.
Through a hands-on and results-oriented approach, the HRBP contributes to strengthening management practices, employee engagement, organizational change, and company culture. The incumbent also collaborates on various strategic HR initiatives in partnership with the Vice President, Human Capital and Outreach.
Responsibilities
- Act as a strategic partner and trusted advisor to managers on all human resources-related matters;
- Support and coach managers in team management, leadership development, performance management, employee engagement, labour relations, and occupational health and safety matters;
- Support internal clients across various HR activities including talent acquisition, onboarding, performance management, organizational development, training, workforce planning, change management, employee relations, employee engagement, workplace climate, and occupational health and safety;
- Translate business challenges into concrete HR strategies and initiatives aligned with operational realities;
- Advise managers on the application of HR and OHS policies, practices, and procedures, including disciplinary matters, administrative files, workplace injuries, and return-to-work cases;
- Participate in risk identification, incident investigations, and the follow-up of corrective and preventive actions;
- Build strong relationships with managers and position Human Resources as a value-added business partner;
- Actively contribute to the evolution of HR practices and continuous improvement initiatives;
- Intervene in complex situations requiring sound judgment, diplomacy, influence, and strong mobilization skills;
- Contribute to maintaining a healthy, safe, respectful, and values-driven work environment;
- Act as an ambassador of the organizational culture and change initiatives;
- Collaborate on various strategic HR projects in partnership with the Vice President, Human Capital and Outreach.
Job Requirements Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or a related field;
- CRHA designation considered an asset.
Technical Skills
- Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in human resources management (HR Business Partner, HR Generalist, or advisory role);
- Experience in a manufacturing environment considered an asset;
- Excellent command of French, both spoken and written; knowledge of English is considered an asset.
