Purpose of the position

Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, the incumbent supports all mechanical maintenance activities for hydraulic, pneumatic or mechanical components.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze technical drawings: interpret information regarding materials, specifications and manufacturing instructions;
  • Write the manufacturing and repair ranges of the products supplied by the customer
  • Establish and define the manufacturing process from technical drawings and update them;
  • Interpret and validate the technical requirements of the drawings on the Catia V5 software and produce sketches (visual aid) necessary to support the production;
  • Ensure constant compliance between drawings, specifications, and manufacturing ranges;
  • Check the hardware in stock for each part that will be used;
  • Define cost data and apply quantitative techniques to estimate the cost for different parts purchased or repaired;
  • Prepare cost estimates for parts;
  • Adjust and install components in accordance with the prescribed drawings, specifications and standards using the appropriate tools and equipment.
  • Perform function and pressure tests following established procedures when required;
  • Measure the dimensions of the parts to plan the adjustment operations using the appropriate tools and equipment (verniers, micrometers, etc.).
  • Establish the tolerance of moving parts;
  • Touch up paint on parts, if necessary;
  • Any other related tasks.
Job requirements
Education requirements
  • Diploma of college studies (DEC) in aircraft construction or mechanical engineering
Or
  • DEP in maintenance or hydraulic mechanics or DEP in assembly of aircraft structures and components or equivalent;
  • Any other professional training combined with relevant experience may be considered;
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar position
Technical skills
  • Ability to read, perform and modify technical drawings and machining sketches;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and CATIA V5 and/or SolidWorks CAD software or other similar software;
  • Have Knowledge of machining;
  • Knowledge of A/S 9100 standard is an asset;
  • Excellent proficiency in French (spoken and written). Knowledge of English is considered an asset.
