Description

POSITION DESCRIPTION

FOP CONSULTANTS is looking for Building Engineers at the senior level motivated to deliver on mandates for its clients in the agri-food sector. The mandate is to manage the buildings and utilities of agri-food plants, including refrigeration and water treatment and to maintain sanitary integrity, plan improvement projects and ensure compliance with applicable codes and the SFCR. The senior scope is further to define site design and layout standards and to mentor intermediate consultants and review their deliverables.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage the plant's buildings, mechanical systems and utilities.
Ensure the performance of refrigeration, HVAC and water treatment systems.
Maintain the sanitary integrity of facilities (floors, drains, surfaces).
Plan renovation, expansion and code compliance upgrade projects.
Manage subcontractors, maintenance contracts and budgets.
Optimize energy and water consumption.
Ensure compliance with building codes, the SFCR and environmental standards.
Define site design and layout standards.
Mentor intermediate consultants and review their deliverables.
Lead tendering and the relationship with external firms.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering (mechanical, building mechanics, electrical) or any other related discipline.
Minimum ten (10) years of industry experience.
Eight (08) to fifteen (15) years of experience as a Building Engineer.
Sector standards: HACCP, SFCR (CFIA), SQF, BRCGS, FSSC 22000, ISO 22000.
Tools and systems: MS Office suite, AutoCAD, Revit, MS Project.
Hold one of the following certifications: LEED AP, ASHRAE.
The following are considered assets: membership in the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ), PMP, Building Commissioning Professional (BCxP).
Experience in Canadian public or private organizations.
Language: French and English
