SUMMARY OF THE POSITION
A person who, while working as a biomedical engineering technician, coordinates and monitors the activities of a team of technicians and ensures compliance with quality standards. They participate in the development and implementation of optimization and preventive maintenance programs for specialized medical equipment (EMS). They participate in the orientation and training of biomedical engineering technicians.

SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS* Equipment Management: Oversee installation, maintenance, and repair of biomedical equipment.* Technical Support: Provide support to healthcare personnel, ensuring equipment runs efficiently and safely.* Inventory & Compliance: Manage inventory, coordinate procurement process with Biomedical Engineers, and ensure equipment meets safety and regulatory standards.* Training & Documentation: Train staff on equipment use and maintain documentation of repairs and inspections utilizing Octopus software.* Collaboration: Work with other departments and vendors to resolve technical issues and report procurement needs for replacement or new equipment.* Budgeting & Planning: Assist in budget planning and coordinate equipment upgrades and replacements.* Team Organization: Define roles, allocate tasks, and ensure the right skill mix.* Project Planning: Set SMART goals, develop timelines, and manage risks.* Leadership & Motivation: Lead by example, offer guidance, and foster a collaborative environment.* Communication: Ensure regular updates and communicate progress to stakeholders.* Resource Management: Provide necessary tools and balance workloads.* Problem-Solving: Resolve technical challenges and encourage innovation.* Performance Evaluation: Monitor team progress, conduct reviews, and set improvement goals.* Conflict Resolution: Address conflicts constructively and maintain team cohesion.* Documentation & Reporting: Keep records and provide regular team updates to management.* Continuous Development: Promote skill development and support career growth for team members.

REQUIREMENTS
Education: * Must hold a college diploma (DEC) in an electronics technique such as electronics technologies, computer systems technologies or industrial electronics technologies from a school recognized by the competent ministry.

Experience:

  • Two (2) years of relevant professional experience.
  • Northern Experience is an asset.

Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Good manual skills and dexterity;
  • Meticulousness, precision and attention to details;
  • Ability to work under pressure;
  • Analytical;
  • Autonomy, initiative and judgment;
  • Ability to work in collaboration with all colleagues and external partners;
  • Relevant knowledge in computer;
  • Knowledge of Cree culture, language, and social/health issues in Eeyou Istchee is an asset.

LANGUAGE* Fluent in English and French;
* Fluency in Cree is an asset.

OTHER* Available to travel inside and outside of the Eeyou Istchee territory as required;* If Remote work is approved; territory visits are mandatory: Min. one (1) week per month, up-to two (2) weeks;* Possibility of On-call;* Possibility of telework.
This position offers the possibility of telework, depending on operational needs and after agreement with the employer. Please note that this is not a permanent condition of the position and the employer reserves the right to request regular physical presence in the office and on site.
