The selected candidate will provide primary care services to a panel of clients and families (0-99), in a transition structure to the new care model (MIC-M).

SUMMARY OF THE POSITION
The Community Miyupimaatisiiun health Centre (CMC), offers front-line services and community health for the local population. Services are given where it is best suited in accordance with the clients' needs and are offered through various means such as consultation at the CMC, home visit, group activities and support with community resources.

Nurse clinician, who, in addition to her/his functions as an assistant head nurse or assistant to the immediate superior, develops implements, evaluates and revises clinical tools and health care quality assessment tools.

The nurse is an active member of the clinical team, contributing to overall team function, team building, and enhancement. She/he participates in the continued development of the role of case management in the Primary Care model. While creating, developing and nurturing culturally appropriate interactions and connections with each other, clients and the community, the person provides professional expertise and consultation to the primary health care team.

SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS* Reorganizes the workload in the event of the unforeseen absence of one of the nursing staff; * In the absence of the Immediate Supervisor, ensures all support staff is present at work;* Supports nursing staff in their clinical role and tasks;* Responsible to ensure and organize orientation of new nursing staff; * Helps ensures the Nursing protocol is applied and respected; * Carriers out other tasks usually assigned to a Nurse Team Leader upon the request of her/his supervisor.

Education:

  • Member in good standing of the O.I.I.Q.

The candidate will be selected according to the local collective labor agreement (Letter of Agreement number 2).

Language:

  • Fluent in English;
  • Fluency in Cree or French is an asset.

Other:

  • Includes on-call periods for Current Services;
  • This position includes extended role functions.
