Description
Under the authority of the Mohawk Council of Kanesatake and in collaboration with the Kanehsatà:ke Education Center, the teacher will work under the direct supervision of the Ratihén:te High-School Principal. The teacher’s primary responsibility is to ensure that all students acquire the essential academic skills at each grade level while fostering an environment that encourages student engagement and growth. The goal is to provide a nurturing classroom atmosphere where every student is supported in reaching their full potential, while emphasizing cultural relevance and community values.

Prerequisites :
- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) or a Bachelor’s degree with a valid teaching certification recognized by the Ministry of Education (MEES) in Quebec.
- Provincial teaching certification is required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and the community.
- Proven ability to develop and implement yearly curriculum plans and create engaging classroom plans that meet the diverse needs of the students
- Knowledge of Kanien’keha:ka (Mohawk) culture and history, knowledge of language is an asset, and familiarity with Indigenous perspectives and traditions is beneficial.
