Description
We are looking for a DTQC Value Analyst, reporting to the Value Analyst Team Lead, to assist in optimizing vehicle costs. In this role, you will have the opportunity to establish yourself as an authority in your field and influence all product development teams from the start of the design phase. You will be able to leverage your skills to influence engineering and purchasing teams from the beginning of the design phase.
YOU'LL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:
Collaborate with design and engineering teams to foster a cost-oriented design approach ("design-to-cost").
Evaluate the impact of features on cost, streamline specifications to a strict minimum, and identify potential savings on components.
Work with engineers, designers, buyers, and project managers to make informed decisions.
Track costs throughout the product development cycle, and adjust technical choices to stay on target.
Carry out cost benchmarks for products and manufacturing processes to ensure component costs align with industry standards.
YOU'LL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALITIES:
A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
More than 5 years of experience in DTC (Design to Cost), cost engineering, product cost analysis, or technical purchasing in a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in English (written and spoken) is required for this position, as you will be collaborating with BRP sites and suppliers worldwide.
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and technologies for plastic, metal, composite, suspension, mechatronic, electrical, and electronic components, as well as the factors influencing their costs.
Experience with product development cycles and involvement in target-cost design or target-cost analysis initiatives, preferably in the automotive industry or a similar sector.
