We are looking for a Senior Data Governance Advisor who will report to the Enterprise Data Governance Manager, and who’ll be tasked with helping us to deploy data governance and enable the adoption journey. As part of your role, you’ll be significantly contributing to the organization's growth. You’ll be at the forefront of bringing of your expertise and knowledge towards the business units.
YOU’LL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:
Design, document, and maintain data governance processes, standards, and guiding principles, ensuring consistent application across all data domains within the federated model.
Lead and support initiatives related to data definition, semantics, data classification, data quality, metadata management, and data lifecycle, ensuring alignment with data governance principles.
Collaborate with enterprise architecture, risk, and compliance to ensure data governance activities are aligned with corporate frameworks and regulatory obligations (e.g., GDPR, Law 25, SOX).
Collaborate with data owners, and data stewards to operationalize governance within their data domains.
Ensure consistency and alignment of governance practices across data domains by harmonizing federated approaches with enterprise standards
Promote adoption of data governance practices through hands-on support to business units and participation data governance committees.
Coach and mentor data stewards and business stakeholders across domains to strengthen data governance maturity and shared responsibility for data.
Develop and deliver bilingual (FR/EN) training and awareness materials, simplifying complex data governance into accessible, engaging content.
Create and maintain practical toolkits and learning resources (e.g. videos) to support consistent execution of data governance processes and standards.
Apply structured change management methodologies (e.g., ADKAR) to guide stakeholders through data governance adoption, manage resistance, and reinforce behavioral change.
Design and execute communication strategies that articulate the value and purpose of data governance to diverse audiences (executive, business, and technical).
Contribute to the continuous improvement of data governance processes and tools through feedback, metrics, and lessons learned.
YOU’LL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALITIES:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Business Administration, Communication, or a related field.
7 years + of experience in data governance and organizational change enablement, preferably in the manufacturing sector and large enterprise.
Extended knowledge and practical experience Data Definition and semantics.
Strong expertise in data governance, data stewardship, and data ownership models (federated data governance model).
Proven experience in process & operating model design.
Demonstrated experience applying structured change management methodologies such as ADKAR to drive data governance adoption.
Strong ability to simplify complex data concepts and engage audiences across all levels of the organization.
Experience with Collibra or equivalent metadata management tools is a major asset.
Excellent communication and facilitation skills in French and English.
