Your mission should you accept it:
Reporting to the Estimation Director, the Senior Estimator plays a key role in cost evaluation and bid preparation for large-scale renewable energy projects, primarily in the solar and energy storage sectors. He or she analyzes tender documents, assesses risks, coordinates internal and external stakeholders, and actively contributes to the bidding strategy to support Borea's growth.
What you will do to complete this mission successfully:
- Analyze tender documents (plans, specifications, addenda, contractual conditions, etc.);
- Participate in the development of the bidding strategy in collaboration with the estimation team;
- Identify technical or contractual risks and opportunities;Coordinate preliminary engineering with external consultants;
- Prepare technical questions (RFI) to submit to the client;
- Develop construction plans and execution methods;
- Develop a preliminary schedule and optimize the sequence of work;
- Prepare and send requests for quotations to suppliers and subcontractors;
- Analyze received bids and recommend the best options;
- Perform quantity take-offs using internal tools (measurements, lengths, volumes, etc.);
- Participate in site visits and coordination meetings;
- Complete cost estimation using the company's estimation software;
- Evaluate project overhead costs (management, safety, equipment, etc.);
- Structure the estimate according to the project's cost breakdowns;
- Maintain constant communication with external partners throughout the process;
- Participate in bid closing and handover meetings with construction teams.

- College diploma (DEC) or bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
- 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in estimation, ideally in the energy sector.
- Bilingual (French and English), both spoken and written.
- Strong interest in renewable energy and sustainable projects.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Project; knowledge of Bid2Win (an asset).
- Analytical mindset, rigor, and attention to detail.
- Autonomy, versatility, and ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
