This role is responsible for supporting and advising NA Treasury, Payment & Solutions (TPS) clients on working capital optimization strategies that improve end-to-end cash conversion cycles, unlock working capital and strengthen daily treasury operations and financial performance. The Working Capital Optimization (WCO) team in partnership with TPS Sales, Product & Digital combine deep expertise, analytics and experience in liquidity, payments, corporate card, receivables, supply-chain finance, digital solutions and working capital tools to drive comprehensive value for our Commercial Banking and Capital Markets clients.
Researches, defines, analyzes, develops, aligns and implements working capital optimization thought leadership, strategies and solutions with P&L (profit and loss) accountability. Collaborate and partner with TPS Sales & Product, Bankers and BMO colleagues to effectively advise clients and tailor solutions to optimize working capital. Carries out market research, forecasting, pricing, and competitive analysis, monitors performance, and assesses problems to develop and implement solutions in the execution of mandate. Collaborates with internal partners in TPS Product, the Commercial bank and Capital Markets business lines and NA TPS.
- Contributes in the development of strategic initiatives and business development plans.
- Identifies emerging client needs, issues and market trends to inform advice and decision-making.
- Support the execution of strategic initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Conducts independent analysis and assessment to resolve internal and client issues.
- Develops business cases by identifying needs, analyzing potential options, and assessing expected returns on investment.
- Builds effective relationships with internal front-line and product/external stakeholders; ensures alignment between stakeholders.
- Defines business requirements for analytics and reporting to ensure data insights inform business decision making.
- Oversees the development and management of business analytics and insights (e.g. customer profitability tracking and analytics, revenue forecasts, operations metrics, trend analytics, and predictive modelling).
- Leads, develops, and manages business analytics for performance reporting. Monitors and tracks financial performance and addresses any issues.
- Designs and produces regular and ad-hoc reports, and dashboards.
- Breaks down strategic problems, analyzes client and product data to provide insights and recommendations.
- Executes work to deliver timely, accurate, and efficient service for clients and internal partners.
- Conducts complex market research, competitive intelligence, and data analysis aligned with strategic priorities and team mandate.
- Monitors key business, financial performance and growth metrics to identify trends and recommend action plans.
- Gathers and analyzes customer and sales feedback to identify issues, opportunities to drive actionable outcomes.
- Gathers basic market research and competitive intelligence, including pricing, from publicly available information.
- Continuously improves processes to identify issues and deliver optimal employee and customer experience.
- Works with TPS Sales Enablement & Learning and Workforce Effectiveness partners to develop training materials/resources and manage change.
- Support front-line teams in development of client deals and related presentations.
- Develops and maintains relationships with external industry partners and vendors where applicable for this role. May network with industry contacts to gain competitive insights and best practices.
- Applies expertise and thinks creatively to address unique or ambiguous situations; find solutions to complex, non-routine problems.

Qualifications:
- Minimum 7+ years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in Business or a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Seasoned professional with a combination of education, experience and industry knowledge.
- Strong experience working with business product fundamentals, including product design, functionality, and related financial performance, key performance indicators and analytics
- In-depth commercial and capital markets banking environmental awareness / understanding.
- Strong knowledge and experience in business process, coordination and management.

- Building client business cases with solutions and modelling financial outcomes.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
