Are you a seasoned professional with a passion for risk management and business engagement? Do you thrive in dynamic environments and excel at building relationships? BMO is looking for a Manager of Risk Identification to join our growing team.

As the Manager, Risk Identification, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding our company by identifying and assessing various risks, including strategic and operational risks. You will collaborate closely with different business units to understand their business activities and the associated risks, translating this information into a comprehensive risk inventory with measured impacts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inventory Management: Maintain an up-to-date risk inventory that supports our company's strategic objectives.

  • Data Integration: Maintain and enhance quantitative templates and structured reporting frameworks to accurately integrate, reconcile, and synthesize data and values from multiple sources.

  • Quality Assurance: Perform ongoing review and validation of risk data, documentation, and reporting to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to risk standards and governance expectations. Works to automate where possible.

  • Control Assurance: Supports control development and testing work.

  • Collaboration: Partner with business experts to gather and assess risk information.

  • Strategic Design: Takes action to continuously improve efficiency and BAU integration elements and can articulate changes succinctly.

Qualifications and Requirements

Experience:

  • Extensive experience in banking. financial institutions, insurance, or fintech.

  • Proven track record of working on significant projects, driving change, and engaging with business units.

  • Background in risk management, operations, compliance, or regulatory projects is highly desirable.


Skills:

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Strong ability to build data driven reporting.

  • Ability to aggregate data across sources and build repeatable, controlled files.

  • Proactive, with a knack for generating ideas and driving initiatives.

  • Comfortable with change and ambiguity, with a strategic mindset

  • Exceptional presentation skills, with ability to communicate data-driven insights for senior leadership consumption.

Salary:

$75,900.00 - $141,900.00

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
