Provides investigative services and responds to threats to BMO, with a particular focus on complex internal risks that require forensic review. Executes work to focus on prevention and recovery in accordance with applicable procedures, laws and regulations. Conducts comprehensive investigations and provides consultation and analysis to lines of business. Implements strategic priorities in alignment with standards and operating procedures. Oversees the provision of advice, guidance and direction on a range of complex issues and initiatives.

  • Prepares timely, concise, investigative reports.
  • Escalates risks and emerging trends in order to mitigate risks and financial exposures.
  • Ensures all possible measures are taken to recover losses and prevent or reduce further losses due to fraud.
  • Works with external stakeholders to keep abreast of industry developments and to represent the interests of BMO.
  • Communicates abstract concepts in simple terms.
  • Fosters strong internal and external networks and works with and across multiple teams to achieve business objectives.
  • Anticipates trends and responds by recommending appropriate changes.
  • Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Typically 10+ years of related experience and management experience.
  • Expert knowledge of fraud and forensic investigative processes.
  • Expert knowledge and understanding of the business unit’s key products and services, technologies, processes and controls.
  • Advanced knowledge of internal control processes.
  • Seasoned expert with extensive industry knowledge.
  • Viewed as a thought leader for innovation.
  • Verbal & written communication skills - Expert.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills - Expert.
  • Influence skills - Expert.
  • Collaboration & team skills, with a focus on cross-group collaboration - Expert.

Salary:

$110,500.00 - $192,500.00

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
