The program equips interns with an understanding of working in an environment dedicated to exceeding client expectations and delivering products and services distinct to outstanding client needs.

 

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada. This role is not eligible for sponsorship, and we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa or work permit.

 

The salary range for this position is $70,300 - $73,500. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity.

What the day will look like

 

  • Perform actuarial valuation to determine the insurance contract liabilities for Property & Casualty insurance carriers, captive insurance companies and self-insurance programs;
  • Perform Risk-based technical premium studies and captive feasibilitiy studies for our commercial risk clients
  • Perform actuarial analyses to determine the benchmark premium rates for auto insurance in several provinces
  • Support our insurance clients in doing rate filings and creating rating manuals
  • Providing analytical support in servicing mid to large corporate accounts;
  • Maintaining a variety of Excel-based actuarial tools;
  • Promoting good public relations by developing strong working relationships with clients and insurance company representatives;
  • Participating in functional team activities which support the operations of the AGRC practice; and

Skills and experience that will lead to success

 

  • Completed bachelor's degree in Actuarial Sciences, Predictive Modelling, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics or Business Administration.
  • Demonstrate problem-solving and analytical skills in developing solutions for complex client/business issues;
  • Strong organization skills and the ability to efficiently coordinate the delivery of projects and advisory services;
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, both verbally and written;
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a key member of a team and independently with minimum supervision;
  • Must have strong digital literacy and be proficient with the Microsoft Office Package. Previous experience in R, Python, VBA or other programming languages is an asset.
