About the roleAt Groupe Alesco, we are committed to creating the conditions necessary for our employees to thrive. In the role of Operational Excellence and Automation Manager, the candidate will be responsible for identifying, structuring, planning, and delivering process optimization and automation initiatives across the organization.
This role combines skills in functional analysis, project management, operational transformation, and change management.
The Manager, Operational Excellence and Automation will act as delivery manager (equivalent to PM) for targeted projects with a technological, functional or local scope, working closely with business units, operations, the IT team and the data/AI team.
ResponsibilitiesWithout limitation, the Senior Operational Excellence and Automation Manager will:
- Analyze existing processes in collaboration with operational stakeholders to identify inefficiencies, duplications, irritants, and concrete opportunities for optimization or automation.
- Propose, structure, and supervise targeted initiatives, ensuring they are aligned with technological capabilities, strategic directions, process governance, and business objectives.
- Plan, coordinate, and deliver operational excellence projects, acting as project manager responsible for execution and expected functional results.
- Collaborate with the senior business analyst to validate the strategic relevance of initiatives, qualify risks and complexity, and contribute to decision-making documents (business cases, project sheets).
- Work closely with IT and Data/AI teams to assess technical feasibility, identify the best solutions, validate tool choices, and ensure compatibility with existing infrastructure.
- Develop or contribute to the modeling of current (as-is) and future (to-be) processes, using recognized tools and ensuring that the right stakeholders are involved at every stage.
- Support business units in implementing solutions: change management, training, documentation, post-implementation support, and adoption monitoring.
- Define and monitor performance indicators associated with optimization projects, measure the benefits achieved, and adjust initiatives as needed to maximize the value delivered.
- Contribute to the structuring and evolution of process governance and automation practices within the organization by developing tools, methods, and reference frameworks.
- Actively collaborate with the director, PM, PO, and functional analyst to ensure overall consistency between delivered projects, delivery practices, and strategic objectives.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of analytical processes and visualization practices by proposing modernization and automation opportunities.
- Work with business analysts to define project performance indicators or model the anticipated impacts of transformation initiatives.
- Participate in cross-functional business intelligence, data valuation, or automation initiatives in line with the group's strategic priorities.
- Ensure the structured transition of analytical activities to the Data and AI Department by collaborating on planning, knowledge transfer, and deliverable continuity.
- Comply with data confidentiality, security, and governance standards, including legal obligations (Law 25) and internal policies regarding the processing of sensitive data.
- Be on site at the office a minimum of 2 days per week.
- Perform any other tasks assigned by your immediate supervisor or related to the position.
- Structured diagnosis: Ability to identify inefficiencies, prioritize issues, and propose concrete and achievable targets.
- Expert leadership: Natural influence based on technical credibility, clear analysis, and rigorous deliverables.
- Analytical skills: Ability to visually represent flows, results, and indicators in a format that can be used by management.
- Project management: Rigorous planning, coordination, and monitoring of execution, with a sense of functional responsibility.
- Political acumen and collaboration: Ability to navigate internal dynamics, build buy-in, and influence without hierarchical authority.
- Rigorous and autonomous: Ability to structure work, prioritize effectively, and deliver reliably and proactively in a changing environment.
- Mobilization and change: Ability to support users in adopting new solutions and practices.
- University degree in operations management, engineering, administration, information technology, or a related field.
- Lean Six Sigma certification (green or black belt), or equivalent training in continuous improvement (strong asset).
- Project management training (PMP, Prince2 or equivalent) or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge or certification in process automation (e.g., Power Platform, RPA, Appian, UiPath, etc.) – a significant asset.
- 7 to 10 years of experience in continuous improvement, process transformation or operational optimization.
- Significant experience in functional or technological project management at an operational level (PM equivalent).
- Experience in identifying, planning, and implementing automation solutions (low-code, RPA, systems integration).
- Exposure to cross-functional, multi-team, and digital transformation environments.
- Proficiency in process mapping tools (BPMN, Visio, Lucidchart).
- Proficiency in Lean, Six Sigma, VSM, and Kaizen concepts.
- Good understanding of automation solutions (RPA, Power Automate, low-code/no-code tools).
- Ability to design or apply governance frameworks (roles, rules, committees, indicators).
- Experience with project management tools (Asana, Jira, MS Project) and collaboration tools (Miro, Confluence, etc.).
- Basic knowledge of change management (ADKAR models or equivalent).
- Bilingualism, both spoken and written (communication in French is very important as our team is predominantly French-speaking, but communication in English is essential as we now serve a growing English-speaking clientele).
