Description

Alberta Health Services is seeking an IT Analyst II to join our Imaging Informatics Team, supporting Medical Imaging across the province. This is your chance to be part of a transformative initiative-the largest change to Enterprise Imaging Alberta has seen in over 15 years. As part of this team, you’ll support critical Medical Imaging applications and systems, including X-rays, Ultrasounds, MRIs, Nuclear Medicine, and CT scans. You’ll play a key role in the Provincial Enterprise Imaging Project, which will revolutionize how over 7,000 users access more than 4 million diagnostic exams annually through a new Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS). Don’t miss your chance to be part of something big. As an IT Analyst II, you will: Provide advanced technical support for IT applications and systems. Ensure reliable operations and resolve complex technical issues. Translate business needs into technical requirements and collaborate with vendors on solutions. Analyze proposed solutions to ensure alignment with both technical and business goals. Lead and contribute to projects and initiatives that improve service delivery and system performance. You’ll be working in a dynamic, collaborative environment where your expertise will directly support the delivery of high-quality healthcare services.
As an IT Analyst II, you will provide technical support related to information technology applications either directly to users of the systems or to service delivery functions. You will ensure reliable operations of information systems, resolve complex technical problems, find solutions to customer needs, and lead projects and program initiatives. You will be responsible for more advanced application, telecom or technology support duties. You will investigate, diagnose, and resolve complex problems that have typically been escalated several levels before assignment to this position, and will translate business requirements into technical requirements for a solution and recommend a potential approach to the vendor. You will analyse the solution provided to ensure that it fits both technical requirements and business needs. You will also spend time on project or initiative leadership and delivery.
Completion of bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or equivalent.
Proven experience translating end-user requirements into workflow-based software implementations. Deep understanding of software technologies and emerging trends. Demonstrated leadership with both technical teams and business stakeholders. Strong self-motivation and ability to work independently. Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills. Connect Care (Epic) experience, specifically Radiant, Cupid, or Lumens modules. IntelliSpace Cardiovascular PACS (ISCV) experience.
Experience with: DICOM and HL7 messaging standards. Imaging application support. Diagnostic Imaging clinical environments. Radiology workflow. Healthcare information systems.
