Description
The Administrative Support IV position in the CKD clinic-modality team is responsible for scheduling clinic appointments including: new and follow up appointments and virtual (Zoom and Telehealth appointments) for renal patients in the AKC-North program. The responsibilities of the Administrative Support IV role includes monitoring Connect Care work queues and assigning and triaging referrals as appropriate for the modality team. The Administrative Support IV position is responsible for demographic verification and registration in Connect Care and may be asked to complete patient check-in and checkout as required. Responsibilities for the Admin-IV position include processing consults from the multidisciplinary team to support modality teaching for renal patients and determining clinic flow/clinic room assignment for the modality team daily. The Administrative Support IV position assists with other clinic activities such as ordering supplies and patient education materials. Upkeep of multiple spreadsheets and calendars required for the role. Position also requires the successful candidate to take part in multidisciplinary AKC-North team meetings to support patient care and modality teaching.
As an Administrative Support IV, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.
Some post-secondary education.
Successful completion of a recognized Unit Clerk/Medical Office Assistant course and medical terminology required. Computer skills including familiarity with Word, Excel, and Outlook. Connect Care and Net Care experience. Microsoft Teams and Zoom experience. Previous experience in an outpatient clinic. The successful applicant must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, proven organization and time management skills. Must be able to work effectively in fast-paced, stressful situations. Must be able to work well independently. Must be able to lift 20 pounds and push a bariatric patient in a wheelchair.
Experience in Alberta Kidney Care-North. Experience in the Chronic Kidney Disease, General Nephrology, or Diabetic Nephrology Clinics.
