Administrative Support IV

Reporting to the Unit Manager - Bone and Joint Clinic, the Administrative Support IV (AS IV) provides advanced level clerical and administrative support for the Bone and Joint Clinics. The position requires an individual who can adapt and thrive in a complex and diverse high volume orthopedic clinic. The incumbent must have the ability to manage multiple clinic demands and shifting priorities. This position requires independent judgment and in-depth knowledge of the Bone and Joint Clinic and AHS policies and procedures. You will be responsible to schedule follow-up clinic appointments, book & schedule x-rays, collaborate with surgeons and orthopedic technicians. As a successful candidate, you must demonstrate effective time management and be detail oriented. Each AS IV is required to function at the top of their scope, to support our 4 high volume sub clinics that encompass orthopedic, hand and plastic surgeons (18 in total). A high level of computer skills with extensive knowledge and usage of Connect Care is required.

As an Administrative Support IV, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.

Some post-secondary education.

High School Diploma or equivalent. Post-secondary education - Unit Clerk or Medical Office Assistant Diploma. Medical Terminology. Proficiency in reading, writing and speaking English. Proficiency using computer Microsoft office software (Word, Excel, Outlook). Proficiency using Connect Care, Netcare, Impax. Completed Connect Care - Schegistrar, Referrals Coordinator, Clinic Medical Assistant, Template Builder. Minimum 2 years of experience as an AS4 in a hospital/clinic setting (within the last 3 years). Minimum 1 year experience using EPIC in an Ambulatory Clinic Setting. Minimum 1 year experience using Waitlist & Referrals Management. Minimum 1 year experience with Appointment Bookings. Demonstrated knowledge of the CPSA Guidelines. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated organizational skills and competence in time-management. Utilize effective communication techniques (correct use of business language, spelling, grammar, proofreading, and telephone etiquette). Ability to adhere to AHS Code of Conduct & Confidentiality Policy.

Previous Surgeon Administrative experience (SDC). Previous OR Booking experience. Previous Orthopedic experience. Experience using Connect Care Media Manager - for scanning documents.
