DESCRIPTION

Our client, a fire alarm inspection firm established in Montreal for over 25 years, is currently seeking a Fire Alarm Journeyman Technician.

POSITION SUMMARY

As a technician, you will be mainly responsible for inspecting various types of fire alarm systems in compliance with current codes and standards across the North Shore of Montreal.

More specifically, your tasks will include:

  • Performing annual inspections and verifications in accordance with applicable standards and procedures.

  • Troubleshooting fire alarm panels during inspections or service calls.

  • Installing fire alarm, security, and intrusion systems on construction sites (CCQ).

  • Explaining system deficiencies to clients when applicable.

  • Completing detailed reports for all inspections and work performed.

  • Responding to service calls during a 24-hour on-call rotation (every 3 months).

Requested skills

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in fire alarm system inspections.

  • Experience in fire alarm system programming.

  • Experience in fire alarm system installation.

  • Diploma in electronics or electricity (an asset).

  • Knowledge of Mircom products (a strong asset).

  • CFAA certification (an asset).

  • Holder of a valid CCQ Journeyman 222 card – Security & Fire Alarm Systems Installer.

  • ASP Construction card (mandatory).

  • Valid driver’s license.

  • Solid knowledge of ULC standards and NBC codes.

  • Strong command of spoken and written French.

  • Knowledge of spoken and written English (an asset).

  • Attention to detail and thoroughness in producing inspection reports.
