We are seeking a self-motivated, forward-thinking lead Delivery Director who is obsessed with delivering value to our customers, and is excited to see the successful implementation of the products offering you deliver delight our customers.
As a Lead Engineer/Director Delivery in our US Retirement technology organization, you will lead multiple agile engineering squads to develop and deliver transformative and impactful digital solutions to our Retirement customers in new and exciting ways, working directly with a Product Owner, UX Designer, Scrum master and various stakeholders. The right candidate will also be somebody who loves to continually learn, lead and build software utilizing modern technologies and design using AI and automation.
Position Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of 20-30 engineers across multiple squads to design, develop, test, deliver, maintain & improve cloud-native services and business applications; applying creative problem solving to bring designs to life using cutting edge technologies & techniques
- Provide technical leadership and lead portions of development projects
- Collaborate with product managers, product owners, architects, designers, and other engineers and stakeholder to uncover areas of improvement, issues, and opportunities to deliver new business value through software.
- Participate in ideation, brainstorming, and working sessions to devise creative and disruptive digital solutions
- Prototype and build new complex software to deliver on key product objectives
- Help establish best practices for agile development of scalable applications, security, integration; and governing via architect review, developer review and peer review meetings;
- Experiment with emerging technologies and understanding how they will impact what comes next
- Apply and promote agile principles and methodology, following various engineering practices and approaches
Required Qualifications:
- Multiple contexts and engineering languages/technologies such as .Net, .Net Core, Java, Node, TypeScript, JavaScript, React, Angular, HTML5, CSS3, Docker
- Databases and services such as MS SQL, SQL MI and any non sql DB.
- Experience with cloud providers such as Azure, AWS, Google Cloud; platforms such as Kubernetes, Istio; CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps.
- Agile and DevOps principles, test-driven development, continuous integration, and other approaches to accelerate the delivery of new features
- High level of discipline knowledge and understanding of area of practice
- Ability to combine knowledge of discipline, the market, and some perspective on customer requirements to inform deliverables
- Understanding of business strategy and ability to help craft software/platform/infrastructure architecture plans to support business outcomes
- Foresees problems instead of solving them, and recognizes the needs for flexibility and diverse solutions

- Will lead engineers in squad and other small to medium sized groups where required

- Has positive impact to specific organizational entities & understands nature of impact

Nice to Have:
- Advanced integration experience with Content Management Systems such as Adobe Experience Manager
- Experience creating component libraries and using design systems
- Contributions to open-source projects

If you are applying to this role in US, please note the salary range is $127,330 to $236,470 USD. Additionally, employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance.

Salary range is expected to be between
$113,260.00 CAD - $210,340.00 CADEmployees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
