Java Developer - 56375

Duration: End of March 2026 (Extension possible)

Location: Downtown Toronto - Hybrid: 4 to 5 days a week in November onsite

MUST-HAVE Hard Skills:

• 5+ years Java Exp - Java 8 (must have) and 17 (nice to have)
• Spring/Springboot
• Kafka
• SQL Server
• Mogo DB
• Advanced troubleshooting skills
• Agile
• Degree/Certifications Required: Java Certs, University Degree is a nice to have. Masters Degree is a nice to have too, PHD - overqualified
• Preferred Candidate Background: Java Developers for Backend, season professional with long term coding. Spring/Springboot, Kafka.
• SQL server. Unstructured Data - Mongo DB.
• Full stack exp would be a nice to have, cloud exp nice to have
• Development experience in distributed windows or Java environment. Experience with SQL, java, J2EE, HTML etc.

Role:

• Java development for backend system upgrade- coding and troubleshooting
• Will be working in an Agile environment
• Develop and host web enabled and database driven applications in Java Apply analytical skills to resolve problems and deliver solutions.
• Design and develop quality solutions for systems issues consistent with project objectives.
• Develop, implement and maintain solutions that maximize system availability.
• Periodic scope assistance.
• Work with other team members to cooperatively design, develop and deploy quality solutions in order to satisfy project objectives and client requirements.
• Writes, tests and debugs code. Participates in code reviews.
• Comply with System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology. Take part in construction of the requirements, design, testing and deployment documents.
• Ensure consistency in coding standards.
• Ensure required documentation is housed in the project repository and that knowledge transfer has occurred to full time staff upon completion of contract term.
• Participate in after-hours on-call support rotation as required.
