Role Summary:

We are seeking a technically strong and strategically minded AI Lead to join our Trading Compliance team. This role will focus on building AI-driven solutions to support regulatory compliance, insider trading detection, and proof-of-concept (POC) initiatives. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Generative AI (GenAI), Large Language Models (LLMs) including LLaMA, and experience developing Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems. A strong engineering foundation and the ability to organize and scale codebases are essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development of AI-powered POCs to enhance surveillance and detection of insider trading and regulatory breaches.
  • Design and implement RAG models that integrate structured and unstructured data from trading systems, communications, and regulatory sources.
  • Work with open-source and proprietary LLMs (e.g., LLaMA, GPT) to extract insights from trade data, emails, chats, and other compliance-relevant sources.
  • Build scalable, production-ready AI systems that align with banking compliance standards.
  • Collaborate with compliance officers, data scientists, and engineers to translate regulatory requirements into technical solutions.
  • Maintain clean, modular, and well-documented codebases for long-term scalability and auditability.
  • Stay current with AI advancements and regulatory changes impacting financial institutions.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with 2+ years in AI/ML development.
  • Proven experience with GenAI, LLMs, and RAG architectures.
  • Hands-on experience with LLaMA models, LangChain, Hugging Face, or similar frameworks.
  • Strong Python skills and familiarity with PyTorch or TensorFlow.
  • Experience working with vector databases (e.g., FAISS, Pinecone) and embedding models.
  • Understanding of trading systems, financial regulations, and compliance workflows is a strong asset.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work across technical and non-technical teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in financial services, particularly in compliance or surveillance.
  • Knowledge of natural language processing (NLP) techniques for analyzing communications.
  • Experience with MLOps, model governance, and auditability in regulated environments.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as MiFID II, FINRA, or SEC guidelines.
