Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

Position Overview

The Maintenance Tradesperson provides various trades support including; small carpentry, preventative maintenance, mechanical, electrical; drywall, painting, and upholstery repair services for Selkirk Mental Health Centre.

Experience
  • Three years’ experience working in a field of carpentry, mechanical repairs, upholstery repairs, drywalling, painting, and basic electrical (AC and DC) repairs.
  • Mechanical aptitude; knowledge in the techniques for installation, repair and maintenance of equipment and ability to diagnose and repair equipment is essential.
  • Fundamental knowledge of AC and DC electricity is essential.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Grade 12 education or equivalent.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
  • Valid Class 5 Manitoba Driver’s licence is required.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Experience working with computers. Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word and Excel an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and within in a team is essential.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal communication and organizational skills are essential.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be physically able to do heavy lifting or carrying, work on feet for eight-hour shifts, work at heights and/or in varying environmental conditions (inside, outside, high humidity).
  • Valid Class 5 Manitoba Driver’s Licence is required.
