VP, COMMERCIAL ENABLEMENT & MARKETING

The Opportunity

The VP will lead the measurable improvement in sales performance and optimization of sales across Wajax by designing and embedding scalable sales strategies including responsibility for sales strategy, key account management and marketing. Reporting to the COO, this role ensures a strategic approach to sales delivery to support commercial growth.

The Role

  • Sales Strategy - Defining our overall approach to sales at Wajax including defining segmentation models, go-to market strategies and providing clarity of accountabilities.
  • Sales Capability Development - Develop and embed standard approaches to sales with input from the Regional VPs and define the competencies required in our sales leaders. Ensure these standards are maintained through the delivery of co-ordinated development programs and tracking.
  • Key Account Management (KAM) - Evolve and embed disciplined account planning, opportunity qualification, and growth planning for strategic accounts.
  • Marketing - Ensure the Wajax brand is represented strongly in the market and supporting the delivery of marketing programs that generate leads for the business and have a measurable ROI.
  • Sales Optimization - Leverage existing systems to develop and track dashboards that identify sales growth across all Regions and business units. Use these insights to make recommendations on new approaches. Design, model, and govern sales compensation plans in partnership with HR and Finance to drive desired behaviors.
  • Financial Outcomes - Deliver on revenue, win rates, margin, sales cycle efficiency and sales growth targets. Manage budget, investments, and resource allocation for the function.
  • Leadership & Talent - Build and lead a high-performing team of leaders and coach and support Regional and business unit sales teams.

The Candidate

Education: University Degree or equivalent experience (preferably Business or Engineering)

Work Experience: 15+ years of progressive experience in sales leadership , commercial excellence or sales operations ideally in industrial distribution, manufacturing or a related B2B sector

Knowledge: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong analytical and problem-solving skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office.
