The Opportunity
Provides timely and accurate technical data and support.
Assists with technical analysis and provides support to the Project Management, Engineering and Production Teams.
The Role
- Assesses gears and gearbox products upon arrival
- Assigns tasks and staff to projects while respecting the production plan
- Assesses and reviews technical requirements and documentation for existing and new gearbox product applications including hardware and software analysis
- Provides technical support to all Project Management, Engineering and Production Teams with inspections, analysis, estimates and reports and delivers training
- Supports and assists staff and customers by trouble-shooting technical problems and by providing on-site technical customer support
- Assists manufacturers and suppliers on any technical issues or on any technical requirements relating to gears or gearbox products
- Acts as a key contact for the evaluation of any conceptual designs; provides information that supports conceptual design and provides technical direction and support on all gears and gearbox products related to mechanical layouts and assembly
- Stays current on all products and services to better support customers needs and to identify future business opportunities
- Coaches and mentors assemblers by providing technical knowledge and support
- Ensures quality control of the production of gears and gearboxes
- Ensures that health and safety standards and practices are observed by the production team
- Maintains and archives estimates and photos obtained during the inspection process
The Candidate
- Education: College Diploma or DEP; Technical Trade Certificate
- Work Experience: 5-7 years
- Knowledge: Work experience in repair and overhaul of gears and gearbox products; Practical knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.) and Microsoft Outlook
