Responsibilities and goals associated with the position

Under the supervision of the Senior Business Partner – Human Resources, the incumbent will be required to perform administrative and secretarial tasks as well as duties of a varied nature in one or more areas, such as service to the public or staff, records, and other administrative and operational support activities.

The jobholder’s main responsibilities are as follows:

  • Ensures that collective agreement regulations and Board resolutions are followed in establishing employee pay;
  • Prepares entries required to rectify calculation or other errors, and reports anomalies;
  • Distributes pay cheques for payment of full-day, part-day and overtime work;
  • Prepares various statistical reports and completes various forms for the department’s use;
  • Updates various records, such as absences and accidents;
  • Performs various other secretarial and simple writing tasks, and operates standard office equipment (photocopier, fax machine, calculator, etc.);
  • Ensures that labour costs are allocated to the appropriate budget items;
  • Computes labour costs taking into account specific tasks;
  • Performs other related tasks on request.

  • College diploma (DEC) from a program of study in the appropriate field and four (4) years of relevant work experience (or any other combination of education and experience deemed equivalent under the established policy)
  • Fluency in French and English, both spoken and written
  • Good knowledge of Word, Outlook and Excel software
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Tact and diplomacy
