At Grace Village, our mission is to provide Excellent, Loving and Compassionate Care to seniors in our community.
We are seeking an experienced and collaborative Buildings & Grounds Manager to oversee the maintenance, safety, and long-term stewardship of our residence.
This individual will lead a small team, manage preventative maintenance programs, coordinate contractors, and contribute to strategic projects, including the future development of autonomous apartment-style living spaces.
What You'll Do:
Facilities Operations
- Oversee the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of buildings, grounds, and equipment;
- Develop and manage preventative maintenance programs;
- Coordinate plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and infrastructure repairs;
- Maintain maintenance records and service documentation.
Leadership & Operations
- Lead, support, and schedule the Buildings & Grounds team;
- Assist with onboarding, coaching, and employee development;
- Collaborate with leaders across departments;
- Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, and service excellence.
Contractor & Resource Management
- Coordinate external contractors and service providers;
- Source materials, supplies, and equipment;
- Monitor the quality and safety of completed work.
Strategic Projects
- Participate in facility improvement initiatives;
- Support the development of future autonomous apartment-style living spaces;
- Contribute to long-term infrastructure planning.
What We Are Looking For:
Qualifications
- Postsecondary education or equivalent experience in facilities management, construction, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, or a related field;
- Minimum three (3) years of supervisory experience;
- Strong knowledge of building systems and preventative maintenance;
- Knowledge of construction laws, regulations, and project management principles is an asset;
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications is an asset;
- Valid driver's licence;
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks;
- Availability to respond to operational emergencies outside regular business hours when required.
