Vancouver Coastal Health is looking for a Coordinator, Medical Device Reprocessing to join the Medical Device Reprocessing team at Lions Gate Hospital. Apply today to join our team!

As a Coordinator, Medical Device Reprocessing with Vancouver Coastal Health you will:

  • Participate as a member of the Medical Device Reprocessing management team in the strategic and operations planning and development of policies and procedures for the program, and be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operational requirements of assigned area(s) within the program.
  • Supervise staff for the assigned area(s) including making determinations on selection and discipline, providing leadership, mentoring and guidance to team members, and coordinating related training and orientation.
  • Interact regularly with personnel at all levels within the organization including Directors, Managers and Physicians regarding medical device reprocessing services and operational activities and communicate with key internal and external stakeholders, committees and task groups as required for conducting daily business and achieving program goals and objectives.
  • Strive to enhance medical device reprocessing service delivery for the Community of Care (CoC) Area and overall health authority, participate in quality assurance activities, and provide input into budget for assigned area(s).
Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Baccalaureate in Nursing or a related field.
  • A minimum of five (5) years’ recent, related medical device reprocessing or perioperative experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Experience providing leadership and direct supervision within a large unionized health care environment is preferred.

Knowledge & Abilities

  • Skillfully coordinates activities of staff to ensure effective service delivery using strong leadership, coaching, mentoring and communication abilities.
  • Uses an understanding of customer needs to develop both strategic and tactical solutions to achieve objectives and ensure user needs are met.
  • Uses strong interpersonal and customer relations skills to deal with a variety of stakeholders both internal and external to the organization.
  • Uses analytical abilities to review current processes, identify areas for standardization and improvement, and formulate policies and procedures.
  • Effectively utilizes verbal, written and technological communication skills when obtaining information, providing advice/information and otherwise communicating electronically, verbally or in written format.
