Reporting to the Human Resources Director, the Payroll Specialist is responsible for ensuring accurate and compliant payroll processing and benefits administration for the transportation divisions. This role also plays a key part in managing occupational health and safety claims (CNESST), maintaining bilingual HR documentation, and supporting the optimization of HR processes and forms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Payroll and Benefits Administration

    • Prepare and process payroll for all divisions.

    • Administer employee benefits and respond to employee inquiries.

    • Act as the main resource for payroll- and benefits-related requests.

  • CNESST and OHS Compliance

    • Process and follow up on workers’ compensation and occupational illness claims (CNESST).

    • Conduct monthly CNESST-required inspections and ensure compliance across all divisions.

  • HR Administration

    • Send and manage the annual employee personnel file review forms.

    • Respond to employee inquiries promptly and professionally.

    • Maintain HR documentation up to date in both French and English.

  • HR Support

    • Support the HR Director in optimizing HR forms and implementing new administrative tools.

    • Act as a back-up for the Payroll Specialist during absences.

  • Profile Sought
    • Relevant experience in payroll processing and benefits administration.

    • Knowledge of labor laws and standards, particularly CNESST and federal OHS legislation.

    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

    • Bilingualism (French/English) is required in order to communicate with certain employees and clients who do not speak French, and to maintain documentation in both languages.

    • Proficiency with computer tools (MS Office Suite, payroll and HR systems).
