Workshop Supervisor

Are you a hands-on leader passionate about optimizing mechanical workshop operations and motivating a team?

We are looking for a dynamic Workshop Supervisor to join our organization and play a key role in the daily performance of our vehicle fleet maintenance activities.

In this strategic role, you will be responsible for coordinating production operations, managing a work team, and maintaining quality, safety, and productivity standards in a mechanical workshop.

A true change agent, you will actively contribute to continuous process improvement and talent development within the workshop.

Role Summary

The Workshop Supervisor oversees operations and personnel assigned to the workshop.

They coordinate the work to be carried out while respecting priorities and ensuring the quality of the work performed.

They work closely with suppliers to ensure tasks are completed within prescribed timelines while adhering to estimated costs.

They ensure rigorous management of work orders and that time, repair codes, and parts are accurately recorded by mechanics.

They actively participate in the development and follow-up of mechanics’ training plans, as well as their professional growth.

Your Responsibilities
  • Supervise workshop activities to ensure efficiency and quality of work
  • Plan, coordinate, and assign tasks based on priorities and operational deadlines
  • Guide, motivate, and develop the team of technicians and workshop employees
  • Ensure strict compliance with health and safety standards
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and actively contribute to process optimization
  • Manage operational issues with efficiency and leadership
  • Collaborate closely with transportation teams
  • Monitor workshop performance using key performance indicators

Requirements
  • 100% on-site position
  • Vocational diploma (DEP) in heavy-duty vehicle mechanics (or relevant experience)
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of supervisory experience in a mechanical workshop
  • Proficiency with electronic diagnostic tools
  • Knowledge of MIR RT (an asset)
  • Bilingual in French and English (spoken and written)
  • Strong proficiency in computer tools (M365, Geotab, MIR, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Western Star, Freightliner, and Peterbilt truck systems (an asset)
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license (Class 1 an asset)
  • Autonomy, attention to detail, and team spirit
  • Availability to work different shifts
