Fabrication Estimator/Coordinator

Job Description:

Position: Full time

Area: Fabrication Shop

Reports to: Fabrication Manager

Hours of Work: 7:00 AM - 4:30 PM Monday to Friday ( TMI is a 24/7 Service Company, potential for service needed outside of these hours will be required)

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate proposals from Request For Quotations for projects with a focus on welding and fabrication.
  • Analyze project specifications, blueprints, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labour estimates
  • Create concept sketches and scope documents for both internal and external customers.
  • Work with project management, engineering, and field service to ensure successful execution of projects.
  • Provide expertise and knowledge to customers & team members to ensure projects are done accurately on budget and on time.
  • Provide support and guidance throughout the entire project life cycle to ensure adherence to scope and budget.
  • Provide guidance through the design phase of the project.
  • Conduct site visits with customers, project management, and field service personnel to obtain field measurements and/or develop project scopes.
  • Attend project kick-off meetings as required
  • Communicate with clients to clarify project requirements and address any concerns.

Requirements:

· +3 Years experience in Fabrication Environment

· Keeps up with a fast-paced environment

· Experience with custom steel fabrications and multiple ongoing projects

· Certified Six Sigma training is an asset

· Expert in reading blueprints and assessing build strategies

· Be computer literate in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook;

· Strong sense of urgency, problem solving and a positive approach to improvement opportunities

· Proven coach and mentor, driving results through engagement of the respective teams

· Strong communication skills

· Driving required accountability through all levels of the fabrication team
