The Assistant Controller must track and adjust items used in production and control inventories by conducting inventory checks. He must ensure that the oldest products are used first. He must conduct inventory checks and ensure that they balance with the FinancePro accounting software, and he must follow food safety procedures.

Requested skills

Technical Skills
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles (GAAP, ASPE or IFRS)
  • Experience in management accounting: tracking production costs, margins, and inventory
  • Support for month-end and year-end closing processes
  • Preparation of financial reports for management
  • Budget monitoring and variance analysis
  • Cash flow analysis
  • Knowledge of taxes and fiscal obligations (GST/QST, source deductions, etc.)
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., Acomba, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics)

Analytical Skills
  • Ability to analyze financial data and provide recommendations
  • Skills in financial modeling and forecasting
  • Accuracy in reviewing financial statements

Interpersonal and Organizational Skills
  • Autonomy and initiative
  • Close collaboration with the financial controller, production teams, and management
  • Clear and professional communication
  • Strong time management and ability to meet deadlines

Computer Skills
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, complex formulas, etc.)
  • Experience with accounting software and reporting tools
  • Familiarity with collaboration tools (Teams, SharePoint, etc.)
