Job Description:
Position Overview:
Scarborough Health Network is hiring a Senior Manager, Technical Services to lead the teams and systems that keep a complex, multi-site hospital environment running 24/7.
This role sits at the intersection of people leadership, infrastructure reliability, and enterprise delivery. You’ll lead highly skilled technical teams, oversee critical hospital systems and vendor relationships, and help translate digital strategy into stable, secure, and scalable operations. The work directly impacts patient care, staff productivity, and organizational resilience.
Responsibilities:
Leadership and Team Performance
- Lead and develop a team of technical staff across multiple hospital sites, including team leads and specialists
- Set clear goals, performance expectations, and accountability measures
- Recruit, retain, and develop high-performing technical talent
- Coach and mentor leaders and senior specialists to build long-term capability and succession
- Work closely with the Director, Digital Health and AI and VP/CIO on strategy execution and prioritization
- Support and operationalize enterprise governance structures such as the Change Advisory Board (CAB) and Architecture Standards Review Board (ASRB)
- Monitor service performance, workload balance, and team wellbeing in a high-demand environment
Technical Operations, Delivery, and Governance
- Oversee the reliability and support of hospital applications and core infrastructure services
- Manage relationships with third-party vendors and support contracts
- Ensure mission-critical clinical and non-clinical systems remain secure, stable, and supportable
- Lead planning for current and future infrastructure needs across multiple sites
- Oversee infrastructure upgrades, patching, and security posture in alignment with cyber policy
- Guide hardware and software procurement to ensure compliance with organizational standards
- Manage operating and capital budgets tied to technical services and project delivery
- Identify delivery risks, constraints, and system dependencies and put mitigation strategies in place
- Partner with internal stakeholders, regional health partners, and external vendors on delivery plans
- Ensure all technical initiatives meet SHN architecture, security, and change standards
Requirements:
- Undergraduate Degree in Computer Science, Information Security or equivalent
- Masters Degree in Computer Science, Information Security or equivalent
- Certification in CISP, ITIL Foundation, PMP preferred
- 5+ years experience in a healthcare related organization
- 5+ years experience in IT service management and service delivery
- 5+ years experience in a leadership role
- Experience in leading enterprise-wide technology transformation initiatives
