Description
Sunnybrook Research Institute (fully affiliated with the University of Toronto) has an opening for a full-time, Research Technician in the laboratory of Dr. David Andrews. Skills and Qualifications: Prior experience as a technician in a biochemistry and/or molecular biology laboratory with diverse scientific interests; knowledge in "biophysics" is preferred Essential experience includes: Laboratory methods such as spectroscopy, protein expression and purification, enzyme assays, western blotting. Molecular biology skills required include plasmid DNA preparation, PCR, standard cloning methods. Mammalian cell tissue culture skills which include culturing cells and assaying cells using fluorescence microscopy and image analysis software. Excellent record keeping and the ability to perform contract research for collaborations with pharmaceutical companies Self-motivated, detail-oriented (The ideal candidate will be able to work in a team with minimal supervision) Qualified candidates are invited to submit a cover letter (brief description of research experience and interests) and CV to: jkale@sri.utoronto.ca, with "Research Technician" in the subject line.
