Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre is a nationally and internationally recognized academic health centre with multiple sites across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). As part of a major digital and clinical transformation, Sunnybrook is launching Project REACH, a multi-year initiative to implement a new health information system (HIS) across all campuses and satellite sites. Project REACH is rooted in clinical transformation and care redesign. Led by the Clinical Informatics Team, the project aims to enhance patient care, improve clinical workflows, and better support our care teams.
Overview:
The Integration Architect (IA) is a strategic role responsible for coordinating domain strategy, change control, and issue management across all HIS solutions and venues of care. Reporting to the project leadership, the IA ensures integration activities align with enterprise architecture, patient care workflows, and Oracle Health implementation standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and communicate the HIS domain strategy, including planned downtimes and hosting coordination.
- Lead local change control processes, including code package tracking, testing coordination, and stakeholder communication.
- Act as a liaison between Oracle Health’s Integration Architect and internal teams to ensure integration alignment across systems.
- Drive resolution of integration-related issues, escalating as required and tracking progress across multiple workstreams.
- Participate in and support system and integration testing events, including regression and revenue cycle testing.
- Support project teams by validating design decisions, integration points, and solution interdependencies.
- Coordinate and attend solution meetings, project leadership sessions, and cross-functional reviews.
- Disseminate Oracle Health Flashes and updates to relevant internal stakeholders.
Domain Strategy:
- Understand, maintain, and communicate domain strategy.
- Schedule and coordinate timelines with Oracle Health Hosting.
- Understand and organize planned downtime procedures.
- Manage domain maintenance.
- Operate with high-level visibility to all projects.
Change Control:
- Verify Change Control protocols are in place.
- Schedule and attend Change Control meetings.
- Understand and communicate Change Control window to team members.
- Have the ability to request and track code and packages.
- Organize testing after completion of changes to domain.
- Key stakeholder in PECA (Process of Executing Client Approval) process.
Issue Management:
- Manage resolution of issues logged, ensuring they are assigned and worked appropriately.
- Escalate high-priority issues when necessary.
Weekly Project Meetings:
- Attend weekly solution meetings and solution demonstrations, as often as possible.
- Attend and participate in executive and project management team meetings.
Testing Events:
- Support unit testing, system testing, and integration testing phases and events.
- Assist with revenue cycle testing and any additional testing (e.g., regression testing and/or parallel testing, etc.) required.
- Provide peer support of solution integration and design-related questions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Health Informatics, Computer Science, or a related field; PMP or other relevant certification is an asset.
- 5+ years in healthcare IT, with direct experience in HIS implementation coordination or integration leadership.
- Familiarity with Oracle Health (Cerner), Meditech, or similar HIS platforms.
- Strong understanding of clinical workflows, enterprise architecture, and change control principles.
- Proven experience navigating cross-functional teams and managing complex dependencies.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and issue-tracking skills.
