Job Description:

Sun Life Financial is looking for a UX Designer to join our Experience Design (XD) team. You will work with agile teams, collaborate with product owners, engineers, other experience design professionals as well as key partners across our business to deliver meaningful, data-driven design solutions that enhance our digital product offerings.

What will you do?

  • Create best-in class digital product experiences based on client, business and technical inputs creating desirable and consistent journeys for users across multiple platforms, devices and channels.
  • Develop new concepts, storyboards, screen flows, and interactive prototypes to clearly articulate solutions.
  • Collaborate with UX writers, UX designers, journey designers and researchers to refine design concepts.
  • Conduct concept and usability testing to iteratively validate and improve design solutions and ensure usability standards are met.
  • Analyze user data and research findings to inform and validate design decisions.
  • Conduct market scans to identify trends and best practices in digital product design.
  • Actively collaborate as part of a cross-functional agile team to ensure designs are feasible and implemented accurately.
  • Assist in monitoring user experience metrics and analytics relevant to the team’s work.

What do you need to succeed?

  • 2-5 years of experience in user-centered digital product and experience is required.
  • Possesses strong digital product design and UI capabilities and is motivated to help shape and enhance a growing digital design practice.
  • University degree or equivalent certification in User Experience, Interaction Design or a related field, or relevant work experience. UX portfolio demonstrating impactful customer experiences, including experience developing digital products from initial concept through to implementation.
  • Knowledge of user research methods such as A/B concept and usability testing and ability to interpret and synthesize findings.
  • Proficiency with current design and collaboration tools such as Figma, Jira, etc.
  • Ability to work efficiently and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate the value of design choices to key stakeholders.
  • Strong presentation skills, with an ability to advocate for user needs based on qualitative feedback and quantitative data.
  • Knowledge of AI-powered design tools and their strategic application within UX design processes.
  • Familiarity working with design systems that consistently scale across platforms.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards (e.g., AODA, WCAG) and inclusive design practices.
  • Experience working in agile methodology. Experience in the health services industry is considered an asset.

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
