Job Description:

The Business Process Automation team within Canadian Operations, Canadian Shared Services is a team of highly skilled technical professionals who deliver solutions that automate manual, repetitive processes. The goal is to enhance the effectiveness of Operations functions, so they can focus on more value driven decision support and analytics. Our solutions span a range of technologies including Pega Robotics, Microsoft .NET, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Access, and Microsoft Excel, with Gen AI and LLM components at our disposal.

We're seeking a seasoned Robotic Automation developer who combines technical expertise with innovative thinking. The ideal candidate is proactive, energetic, and thrives in our fast-paced environment. You'll be focused on delivering automated solutions that transform our Canadian Operations processes. We're looking for someone who naturally seeks out innovative approaches, views challenges as opportunities, and can effectively translate complex technical concepts into impactful business solutions.

As a Robotic Automation Developer, you will work in an agile environment playing a key role in delivering an improved client experience while increasing operational efficiency through automation (Robotics) within the Pega Platform.

What will you do?

  • Collaborate with our Operations teams to understand their pain-points and business problems, to design human-centered automation solutions
  • Create, test, and implement Pega Robotics solutions that drive efficiency and enhance user experience
  • Participate in agile ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Daily Scrums, and Retrospectives
  • Write clean, maintainable code with comprehensive test coverage
  • Deploy and monitor automation solutions in production environments
  • Continuously iterate based on user feedback and emerging business needs
  • Share knowledge and mentor team members on RPA best practices
  • Contribute to our culture of Continuous Improvement and innovation
  • As this position is posted in several locations, we specify that bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for Quebec only for the frequent interactions with English and French-speaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada or worldwide.

What you need to succeed:

  • 2+ years of experience with a Robotic Automation tool (Blue Prism, UiPath, Automation Anywhere, etc.). Bonus points if you have experience building software with Pega Robotic Automation
  • Ability to work in an agile setting: adaptability, collaboration, and delivering value to customers.
  • Working knowledge of source code control
  • Skills with Automated Testing, in particular Tricentis Tosca
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and process improvement skills
  • Ability to breakdown high-level business requirements into more detail by questioning and probing for clarification
  • Lead analysis and activities to estimate feasibility, cost and time
  • Highly motivated individual who can learn quickly and execute independently

Additional Assets:

  • Microsoft SQL and relational databases
  • Microsoft .NET, specifically C#
  • Microsoft Access development including coding with VBA

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
