Full-time Position - 100% FTE

Temporary Contract: January 26, 2026 to June 19, 2026

An Opportunity to Join SMLS Role Overview

To support our vision of empowered young women challenging and transforming the world, we are currently seeking a Junior School Teacher. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the Junior School Principal, Junior School Vice-Principal, and Junior School teaching team, and will be responsible for the development and delivery of creative and innovative inquiry based programming, while meeting the individual needs of all students in the classroom.

Position Details

Department: Junior School

Reports to: Principal, Junior School

Liaises with: Principal, Junior School, Junior School Faculty Education: Bachelor of Education, Ontario Teacher Certification Experience: 3+ years experience teaching at Junior grade level Health and Physical Education Additional Qualifications

Experience developing/implementing Project/Inquiry Based Learning Experience in a non-profit setting (asset)

Experience in an Independent School (asset)

Working Conditions: Office / School Environment, Mac, Google

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach Health and Physical Education classes within the Junior School.
  • Provide inspirational learning experiences for students where health and fitness are concerned.
  • Lead the Junior School Intramurals Program.
  • Work collaboratively within the department and the Junior School faculty on curricular initiatives.
  • Maintain consistent and professional communication with students, faculty and parents.
  • Contribute to the co-curricular life of the School as an Athletics coach.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
