St. Albert Public Schools is seeking applications for the position of Assistant Principal for École Hillgrove School among certificated teachers for the start of the 2026-2027 school year.

Hillgrove has a current enrollment of just under 760 students. Programs offered include:
- Grade 5 to 9 (English)
- Grade 7 to 9 (French Immersion)
- Academic Challenge and Enrichment (Grade 7-9)
- Behaviour and Academic Strategies Class (Grade 7-9)
- Learning Strategies Program (Grade 5-9)
- Gaining Opportunities and Life Skills (Grade 5-9)
- Late French Immersion (Grade 7 entry)
- Hockey Academy (Grade 7-9 French Immersion Only)
- Soccer Academy (Grade 7-9)
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated effective leadership in current and previous assignments, specifically:
- Advanced Educational Qualifications: Leadership certification is an asset; at a minimum the successful candidate must be willing to work towards the certification. Holding a Master's Degree or possessing equivalent experience and education beneficial for administrative & leadership roles. French language proficiency at a DALF C1 level or equivalent would be an asset.
- Commitment to the Division's Foundation Statement and Priorities: Demonstrating dedication to the overarching goals and values of St. Albert Public Schools.
- Advanced Understanding of Inclusive Education Programs: Having a strong knowledge about the specialized education offerings available to students within the division.

- Strong Academic and Leadership Focus: Exhibiting a robust commitment to academic excellence and effective leadership within the educational setting.
- Knowledge of Curriculum, Teaching, and Learning: Possessing a deep understanding of curriculum development and instructional strategies pertinent to elementary education.
- Creation and Maintenance of a Safe, Positive, and Productive Learning Environment: Ensuring that the school atmosphere is conducive to learning and personal growth for all students.
- Team Orientation and Shared Leadership: Promoting a collaborative culture that encourages and supports initiatives from both staff and students.
- Effective Delegation of Responsibilities: Skillfully assigning tasks to achieve desired outcomes efficiently.
- Exceptional Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Building and nurturing a positive learning community through clear communication and strong relationships.
- Trustworthiness, Integrity, and Respect: Demonstrating ethical behavior and respect in all interactions with school partners.
- Experience in Instructional Leadership: Providing guidance and support to teachers to enhance instructional practices within the school.
