Mission

The Product Manager will be responsible for gathering, analyzing and interpreting market data and customer needs. He/she will play a strategic role in the development of new products by being the voice of the customer throughout the process. With an in-depth knowledge of market trends, consumers and consumer data, the incumbent will be a reference for assessing the real potential of ideas, identifying untapped market niches and developing products that meet market needs.


In this position, you will have the opportunity to :

  • Synthesize competitive information, market research, customer feedback, sales data, employee feedback and other key data
  • Collaborate with teams (ENGINEERING and DESIGN) and reps (SALES) to bring products and features to life
  • Develop an inspiring product vision and high-impact roadmap
  • Understand and explain the interplay between customer needs ( OEM ), user needs (USER), the group's manufacturing processes in marketing a product
  • Gather customer needs in the field
  • Manage key deadlines and communicate our progress to the company's management committee
  • Work with sales to set prices and bring products and features to market through well-orchestrated marketing plans
  • Act as the main interface between our customer-facing teams and the engineering team and the engineering team
  • Monitor post-launch product performance and adjust according to customer feedback
  • Contribute to the company's overall direction and strategy on future products
  • Understand customer behaviors and unmet needs to identify opportunities for innovation
  • Communicate with our sales representatives to integrate the specific needs of each of our customers
  • Participate in customer calls at the beginning of the project to understand the requirements in order to be able to influence strategically towards appropriate solutions that can be manufactured by SSM according to the relevant information it knows about the market
  • Choose a research strategy according to the resources and time available
  • Use customer needs research techniques: users, ethnography, interviews and focus groups
  • Continuously collect all the news directly or indirectly related to the product in order to propose development directions (monitoring)

Profile

With the following skills and qualities, you'll be successful in this role:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing/engineering/industrial design
  • 100% bilingualism essential both oral and written (English and French) in order to exchange with noc English-speaking clients
  • Experience in marketing research/market studies
  • Great ease in communicating and interacting, both with users and the various development teams
  • Influential leadership
  • Able to influence OEMs through skills and know-how
  • Great analytical and data synthesis skills. Able to make the data collected speak for itself
  • Be on the lookout for any potentially interesting new developments in product development for the company
