In this position, you will have the opportunity to :

  • Participate and collaborate as a member of the unit's management committee in the development, implementation and monitoring of the strategic plan to ensure the company's growth and profitability
  • Oversee production, OHS and maintenance operations, as well as logistical activities including receiving, warehousing and shipping
  • Manage operational budgets and ensure control of service costs in order to achieve set objectives, while implementing effective management and cost optimization initiatives
  • Ensure the availability, reliability and performance of production equipment through effective management of the maintenance department
  • Optimize material flows and logistical processes to support production and deliveries
  • Demonstrate leadership through effective communication, coaching, training, development and problem-solving to foster employee commitment
  • Coach, motivate and develop the skills of production, maintenance and logistics teams to ensure operational performance and team cohesion
  • Maintain a healthy and collaborative work climate with union representatives
  • Actively participate in labor relations management, including interpretation of the collective agreement, conflict resolution and participation in negotiations as required
  • Assume full responsibility for maintaining and developing a safe and motivating work environment, in compliance with occupational health and safety (OHS) regulations
  • Collaborate with continuous improvement teams to support process optimization projects

With the following skills and qualities, you'll be successful in this role:

  • Bachelor's degree in operations management, mechanical or industrial engineering
  • Proven experience in managing manufacturing operations, industrial maintenance and logistics
  • Ability to navigate between the strategic and visionary levels and the highly operational level of managing an operations floor
  • Open-mindedness and ability to manage change
  • Mastery of production (ERP, MES), maintenance (CMMS) and logistics (WMS) management tools
  • Good understanding of ISO and OHS standards
  • Significant experience in managing labor relations in a unionized environment.
